Category: Chapter Events

July 27 - 30, 2017 at George Williams College, Williams Bay, Wisconsin

Remember the power of going to summer camp as a kid? Camp creates an instant sense of community - something about a lake, towering evergreens and a bonfire brings out the sense of wonder and openness to learning. This feeling of interconnection is not solely reserved for children. As practicing social group workers and learners, we all need to be rejuvenated in our practice. Back by popular demand, this summer the International Association for Social Work with Groups (IASWG, Inc.) is once again offering Group Work Camp!

Group Work Camp is an opportunity for social work students and practitioners to glean knowledge from one another on the importance and efficacy of groups. Participants will be able to select beginning- or advanced-level workshops focused on experiential and interactive learning. Group work is not learned by reading or attending lectures, but rather by doing and reflecting. Group Work Camp is a unique and intergenerational opportunity to build networks, skill-swap and stimulate positive group work practice.
